Using the Tools in TRADE I A Decision Support System for Tra c Light Maintenance

In this paper we develop a speci cation of requirements and conceptual design of a decision support system for the maintenance of the lamps in tra c regulation systems Requirements and design are both speci ed using semiformal techniques in TRADE Toolkit for Requirements and Design Engineering The decision support system is non trivial and provides an existing need in a company that works in the tra c system management area The TRADE speci cation is based upon an existing algebraic speci cation in PSF Process Speci cation Formalism The rationale for doing this is that the PSF speci cation is very detailed and lacks a proper requirements speci cation It turns out that TRADE at least in this case is much better suited as a means to specify abstract requirements We discuss how algebraic speci cation could t in a TRADE framework
